The Former Hôtel de Farcy

Please use headphones or keep the volume low for everyone’s comfort.

On your right stands the former Hôtel de Farcy, once the residence of Julie de Chateaubriand, sister of the famous writer François-René de Chateaubriand.

While the ground floor is built in granite, the two upper levels feature finely sculpted limestone decoration.

Look closely and you will notice medallions with carved faces. Several Renaissance kings of France are represented here — each one facing the portrait of his mistress.
