The Public Garden has been a favorite place for walks in Fougères for nearly 200 years.
Once known as “Place aux Arbres,” or the Square of Trees, it offers a beautiful view over the lower town, the castle, and Saint-Sulpice Church.
The garden paths lead you through a peaceful setting filled with artworks, a bandstand, flower mosaics, and even a fougérarium, a collection dedicated to ferns.
Perhaps you will find inspiration here, just as Victor Hugo and Honoré de Balzac once did.
