The War Memorial

On your left stands the War Memorial, created by the sculptor Armel Beaufils in 1920.

The monument features strong regional symbols. At the center, you can see a Breton menhir, a prehistoric standing stone typical of the region.

Behind it stands a small figure representing a shoemaker from Fougères, wearing his work apron — a tribute to the town’s historic shoe industry.
