On your left stands Saint-Sulpice Church, probably the oldest church in Fougères.
It was most likely built in the 11th century, at the same time as the castle.
The building was later enlarged in the 14th and 15th centuries in the Flamboyant Gothic style.
Construction lasted for a very long time and was often interrupted. The choir, on the left side of the building, was only completed in the 18th century, which explains the very different shape of its roof.
Inside, you can find an unusual Baroque decoration, which contrasts with the Gothic nave.
